Want to build your own custom iPod Classic 5th gen or 5.5 Enhanced? Now you can build your very own custom iPod around the 5th gen board with Wolfson DAC.

It’s easy to do so in just a few easy steps!

Logic board.

This is the mainboard within the iPod which handles all the processing and data crunching.

The iPod 5th gen comes in slightly different variations with different memory sizes being 32MB or 64MB. The 64MB model allows up to 50,000 music tracks to be stored instead of 20,000 with the 32MB board. Also, a good point to note, is that the iPod 5th generation also offered us an “enhanced” model sometimes known as the iPod 5.5 enhanced. The only difference is that a search function was added to the bottom of the music menu. Both iPod 5th gen’s used the now sought-after Wolfson WM8758BG DAC.

• iPod 5th gen 32MB Wolfson DAC – Ideal for those who want up to 2TB storage but only need up to 20,000 tracks.
• iPod 5th gen “5.5 enhanced” 64MB Wolfson DAC – Up to 2TB storage with 50,000 audio tracks.

Storage.

We no longer use older mechanical hard disks when building your ultimate iPod. Instead, we use more modern, power-efficient SSD drives. These drives consist of memory cards coupled with an adapter interface card. You can add up to 2TB of SSD storage to all 5th gen iPod Classic logic boards.

Battery.

Choose which battery you would like. With an SSD fitted, battery does last a lot longer with a modern SSD fitted as opposed to an older mechanical spinning drive.

• Original 650mAh battery – Approx 30 hours of continuous music playback. Can be used with a thin rear case.
• 2000mAh battery – Approx 100 hours of continuous music playback. Can only be used with a thick rear case.
• 3000mAh battery – Approx 150 hours of continuous music playback. Can only be used with a thick rear case.

How long?

Build time is approx 2 weeks which allows us to meticulously select and build to the very highest quality your custom iPod.

Included extras.

All custom-built iPods come with an 8-pin female to 30-pin male adapter which allows you to sync and charge with a standard Apple lightning cable.

Warranty.

All custom-built iPods come with 1 year warranty as standard with the option to upgrade to 2, 3 or 5  years for an extra fee!
